Radiation Line’s third EP out 16th May

Posted: May 5, 2009

The Radiation Line are an experimental collective based in Central Scotland.

At their core, the duo of Euan Meikle and James T McKay constantly
record and perform with each other and different musicians. They
create different blends of sound, heavily utilising elements of the
Drone, Folk, Feedback and a raw channeling of tribal Psychedelia….

Occasional members of the collective include John Cromar (NOMA,
Seppuku, Scrotal Tunic), Russell McEwan (Macrocosmica, Tetsuo,
Atmomized, Black Sun), Hal Duncan (author of Vellum, Ink, Escape from
hell!), Andrew Raymond Drennan (author of Cancer Party), Mills and
Boon (Edinburgh power electronics wizards), The Wildhouse (Dundee
noise-pop shoegazers), Andreas Jonsson (Single Helix, lanterns) and a
great many more…

Since forming in summer 2007, the band have released 5 limited edition
cd-r Eps. The latest (EP3 as it’s called) is in it’s second pressing
on the Wiseblood industries label, was mastered by Lea Cummings (Kylie
Minoise, Opaque, Atomized, Korovox sound) and features artwork
designed by Heidi Kuisma (Wild Dogs in Winter) and Paul Tonner (Y’all
is Fantasy Island, Malcolm Middleton). The Ep is also featured on Al
Mabon’s ‘At War with False Noise’ distro list.

Cowsarejustfood blog reviewed EP3 – “…sound as torrential
electricity, grim and fizzing, and sparked-out dying, laid before us
dangerously bare for all to experience. layering sustained om swathes
of weeping synth and machine music guitar eruptions atopatopatop zoned
acoustic twang and mumbled murmerings to create a giant weighty
blanket of pagan mist and ancient heaviosity. which is a good thing ..”

Since a most awesome set of psyche drones and motorik
repetitions at the May 2009 Le Weekend festival,
The Band are currently working on EP4 and their first full length,
factory pressed album. EP4 is due for release in mid September 2009
with a northern english tour and a string of Scottish dates to promote
the disc. The Ep shall feature collaborations with Al Mabon (Tetsuo,
Seppuku, At War with false Noise, Haar) and the very awesome Alistair Crosbie.
